Hong Kong to Seek New Licenses for Crypto Dealing, Custody, Advisory and Management, With a Bill Due by Year-End
Hong Kong’s government has confirmed it will send an amendment bill to the Legislative Council before the end of 2026 to set up licensing regimes for four types of virtual asset services: dealing, custody, advisory and management. Together with the existing licenses for trading platforms and stablecoin issuers, the city’s crypto rules would then cover the industry’s main links.
